You are in good hands!

At Aquatic Training Facility Ottawa, we like to point out that each course offers different benefits… so they all have value. In fact, many people end up taking all three courses to round out their training.   The starting point is going to be the CPO class. CPO certification is offered in over 125 countries and is recognized as the ‘must have’ course for operating a commercial facility.

Yes, all the courses offer the option of a retest. It is strongly recommended you take at lease 2 weeks to go over the course materials before trying again. You can even get help from the instructor in understanding the areas that need work. Keep in mind that there will be additional costs for one-on-one instruction as well as the exam.

For the CPO course, you will be sent the current CPO reference manual and handout package.

Other than that, you will need a pen, paper, calculator and government issued ID. Of course, a sense of humor also helps!

Personally, I prefer the in person sessions as it allows for more direct communication and focus.

If you choose the fusion option for the Certified Pool Operator course, you will be able to study around your schedule and at your pace through the PHTA education portal. The fusion option allows access to the course for 6 months to complete the online portion (POP). On completion you will be issued a certificate of completion to present to an instructor for the one day class. The one day class must be completed along with exam within 1 year.

The zoom option (limited time) offers the same benefits of the in person class without the costs involved with traveling to the course. It is comprised of 2 full days using ZOOM meeting with a live instructor followed by the 3hr online exam.

As we are all about water education, if you don’t see what you need, just contact the office and we will work with you to fulfill your needs. We will teach classes of 1 student if it comes down to that!

If you have 3+ students, we offer discounts as well as the option of an in person private class (some requirements need to be met)
